On Saturday, March 5, 2016, TCHS JROTC drill teams took the drill pad with extreme confidence and enthusiasm. Cadets again made history as they marched with their heads high, competing in eight events, winning four first place trophies and two second place trophies for their third consecutive region victory. Their performances were virtually unmatched from start to finish. Drill commanders set the tone through use of proper voice inflection to direct their teams to victory. The teams took home first place trophies in both male/mixed armed and unarmed platoons, male unarmed squad and female armed squad. Second place trophies were awarded for armed male squad and female color guard. Cadet Kiera Stinson directed two teams, while Cadet’s David Walker, Savanah Brown, John Walker, Maurice Johnson, Trent Clark, and Tyrique Whitening each directed one team. Cadet Trent Clark also won an individual medal and Cadet John Walker also performed an exhibition drill routine. As a result of team’s performances, for the sixth consecutive year, teams earned a spot to compete in the Georgia State Drill competition to be held on Saturday, March 19, 9:00am at Griffin HS. Special thanks to SFC Smith for assisting in preparation of drill team readiness and to MS. Tina Duncan for her role as JROTC team mom. Our cadets could not have done it without you. We are very proud of our program and our cadets for their efforts. Mega Hooah!
