Three students from Taylor County Upper Elementary School earned top honors at the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA Science Fair event held at South Georgia Technical College in Americus on May 9. Three students from Taylor County were invited to attend the Regional Science Fair and all students walked away with awards. These students competed with students from 14 area counties. They were judged on their Science Fair display and had to participate in a personal interview. Top students from grades 5 through 8 were invited to participate in the Regional Science Fair.
Star Dixon earned 2nd Place among 6th Grade students with her project "Effect of Oil Pollution on Aquatic Plants." Sadie Wicks earned 3rd Place Best in Show Award for her project on "Temperature and Viscosity of Motor Oil." Callie Albritton earned the top honors; earning 1st Place among 6th Grade students and receiving the Overall Best In Show Award among all students for her project "Best Way to Replenish Electrolytes."
