Five sixth grade students in the Taylor County Upper Elementary School band participated in the Georgia Music Educator's Association District 3 Solo & Ensemble Event at Hardaway High School in Columbus on Saturday, April 26th. These students have been preparing solo pieces on their instruments since February, which they played for a judge for a rating. All five TCUES students earned Superior ratings from the judge (which is the highest rating that is given). "These students have only been playing their instruments since last September, and I am EXTREMELY proud of their hard work," said TCUES Band director, Amanda Richards.
